Temperature Regulation issues

I bought this unit in June 2023 and had no problems with it until two weeks ago. I noticed that food was starting spoil before the expiration dates - mold started growing on cheese an unopened carton of milk started to sour after 3 days lettuce and tomatoes lost crispness leftovers spoiling faster to mention a few issues. The digital display in the fridge displayed 0 and 37 degrees freezer/fridge/ I checked those readings against those from a testing laboratorys calibrated analog thermometer which showed The digital control panel in the unit showed 0 degrees Fahrenheit in the freezer and 37 degrees Fahrenheit in the fridge unit. I checked the temperatures against a calibrated thermometer from a testing laboratory and: Fridge 42F Freezer 5F - both readings off by 5 degrees. I called customer service last Sunday where I was able to finally get to someone who emailed me a link to some online as to how to lower the temperatures. This purchase still should be covered under warranty

Nice Storage but a few design flaws

Have had this frig for about 6 months. While we like the storage space there are a few design flaws that I definitely DO NOT like. 1 Ice/Water Dispenser - This is a pain as far as making the selection for ice cubes/water/crushed. Definitely prefer having separate methods of selecting ice vs water. The biggest PAIN is there is NO drip collection for splashes of water AND the ice tends to fall all over the place during dispensing. The ice cube auger also tends to get clogged easily... have to change selection to crushed to free up and then back to cubes.. if this doesnt work have to remove the ice container from inside frig and shake it up. 2 Smooth White Front Exterior - Definitely dont like the smooth white finish especially since we have cats.. hair sticks to it like a glove 3 No Handles - The handle less design may look sleek but is a total PAIN to clean Would I buy this model again? No probably not...but would likely stick with a Side-By-Side Design.

I bought this to replace another brand that had many problems within the first 1 1/2 years. Although I like the refrigerator my concerns are the size of the ice container in the freezer and the ability to open the bottom draw in the freezer. The ice container is much smaller than any I ever had. The bottom draw in the freezer was impossible to open as it hit the door when I opened it. Thanks to a wonderful repair man he gave me about 1/8th of an inch. Not too good but with care it works. As a last observation why is the handle of this draw on the bottom instead of the top? It means reaching down to the floor in order to open it. For the good news the amount of space is wonderful throughout the refrigerator and freezer and it seems to hold its temperature well. I am enjoying the product. Thank you.

Our old refrigerator was a side-by-side. It had white wood panels that matched the cabinets next to it. We ordered a white one to match our cabinets. It was a little bigger than our old one but not a problem In fact we can fit more food with this one. All the features on the unit are very organized and straightforward. Only problem is the lower vegetable drawers in both refrigerator and freezer. The drawers are accessed through a glass lid. The drawers protrude towards door opening. The glass on top of the doors can easily break if something above falls on them. I had that happen twice had to order new glass to replace. Should be a warranty Item stuck paying LG should redesign those drawers to correct this issue

Great fridge faulty shelfs

I have had this fridge for about a year and a half. This morning my 9 yr old opened the freezer and the bottom shelf over the drawer just shattered into 1000 pieces. The glass is now in the drawer on top of the food down the back and even in my floor in front of the freezer. I have been on chat with LG all morning and with no help. I live this refrigerator but this was scary. It could have really hurt my child and for that this gets 3 stars. I dont feel as if the agar ya I spoke with were too concerned about the matter.

Explosive Glass in Freezer

I bought this refrigerator 15 months ago. At first I liked it minus the fact that organization of the refrigerator side wasnt great but I bought some containers. Then out of the blue the glass on the bottom freezer drawer exploded. It was everywhere. When I went online today to see about getting it replaced I see that someone else reported the EXACT SAME just 8 days ago. I reached out only to be told that my warranty is for 1 year on everything and its over 3 months past it will not be covered. Its obviously a defect and a dangerous one but I have to pay to replace it and HOPE that it will not happen again.

I have had this fridge for about 2 years. The other day I opened the freezer the bottom shelf just shattered. The glass went all in the drawer on top of the food down the back sides bottom. The drawer would no long slide it took hours of messing around with a shop vac paint mixing stick before it would come out. LG wouldnt replace the part but more than anything didnt seem to care that it might be a safety feature. Especially with small kids. I would not recommend this fridge for that purpose alone.

I purchased this refrigerator about a year ago. Looks nice in the kitchen and worked well up until last month. The sides of the refrigerator became so hot I could not touch them and of course it quit working. After calling the warranty department a service call was scheduled for the next day but that call was cancelled after setting home all day waiting for the repair person to arrive. Then received a call advising the next service appointment was a week later. Fortunately the service tech showed up after only 4 days long time to be without a working refrigerator of course parts needed to be ordered so we were still left without a working appliance for another 4 days. Long and short is the frig is repaired but I still have concerns about this happening again after the warranty is expired. Overall this is a nice refrigerator plenty of room and while I do like the ice dispenser in the door it takes along time to make a full bin of ice.

Ive been using my new Side by side 27cu for 2 weeks now. It keeps stuff frozen and cold with consistent temperature. Theres plenty space. It has a few drawers but I wish it had more. It runs quiet but every so often I hear a loud pop and I wonder where it comes from. The ice- and water-dispenser work fine so far.

This is a great fridge. Roomy sleek modern. But the one thing I wanted was a nice ice maker. I am the only ice user in the house and it cant keep up with me. My older frig didnt have a problem. Even when the ice is set on the max ice setting its not any better. Very disappointed. If you need an effective ice maker this is not your frig.

I was impressed with the model in Consumer Reports. I wanted a better ice maker. This one is good. The drawers are at the bottom and their handles are at the bottom of them. Very awkward way to open please rethink that part.

I have been using my LG Since December 2022. I love the water and ice dispenser easy to work and the Fridge is very quiet. What I also love about my LG is that it is while front and sides. Also a magnet works on the door so you know you have a great product. My there Fridge a magnet would not stick to it. So many of the Friges have one colour in the front and the sides dark grey. When you walk into the kitchen you see the white sides which goes lovely with my white cabinets.

Bought this as a gift for my mother. The second day the frost-free freezer was frosty. Contacted the retailer and they helped me connect with LG. LG conceded that the seal was a problem and would find a repair person to replace it. Nothing happened for two weeks. LG called again to get the serial number of the refrigerator and said theyd call right back with repair instructions. Nothing happened. Its beginning to look like the north pole in the freezer

I got this floor display model at Home Depot at a very reasonable price. he newer versions of this model have some nice features and are energy star rated but for our purposes this refrigerator is prefect. Several people share this fridge each having their own shelf. The shelves are massive with plenty of height. No need to have all milk bottle shape items on one shelf. The 2 bottom drawers have way more storage space than our previous large side by sides. Some of that space is taken from door shelves both in the refrigerator and the freezer. Past experience is that the door shelves are a weak link in terms of fridge repairs and maintenance so I dont find the trade off of less shelves or lack of a door butter compartment to be inconvenient as compared to way more interior storage space both in the fridge and the freezer. Our last refrigerators ice maker took up one whole storage shelfs space. This one although it holds less ice is in the door once again trading some marginally useful door shelves for way more useful interior freezer space. We have never run out of ice but if one were planning to use a large amount for a special occasion they could make it ahead of time and store it in the expansive freezer interior. I am a little nervous about the longevity of the ice and water touch control switch but so far it has performed flawlessly.

I am awaiting a replacement water filter from lg. they told me to turn off water supply - evacuate all water from fridge and then install new filter and run about 3 gallons thru that I will do this once. If plastic taste is still there I will return the unit to where I purchased. No customer should need to work on a brand new refrigerator

We bought this refrigerator about a month ago because our old was was extremely old. It had never been replaced. We love the in door ice/water dispenser as we seem to use ice constantly but the ice tray isnt very large and its awkward to remove from the door. We were hoping we could get the craft ice in this unit also but this model didnt come with it. Im still trying to get used to where the handles are...our other fridge had an actual handle not the kind this one has. There is lots of room in it and there are plenty of door pockets for all of our stuff. The freezer is a little narrow but there are so many shelves that its not a big problem. If youre needing a good fridge to replace an old one this is the one to get

Worst refrigerator ever built

6 months after purchase refrigerator could not maintain a safe temperature below 40 degrees. Fixed under warranty and worked properly. Exactly 6 months and 4 days later same issue but because the refrigerator was 4 days out of warranty it would only be repaired unless I paid for the repair out of pocket. So now I have a 250lbs paper weight. Oh yea the freezer works just fine.

A month ago I noticed that my old refrigerator wasnt working so well and decided that it was time to buy a new one. After spending quite some time at the store I landed on the LG refrigerator and am so glad that I did It has plenty of room in both the refrigerator and freezer sections and I love the water/ice in the door The many features of the fridg make it a winner in my book

We bought the 27 cubic feet model and it is great to have so much space. The icemaker took a few days to get enough ice but now it keeps up easily. The alarm that the door is open is noticeable without being too annoying.
