Caught Fire On Its Own

This microwave was 5 years old and caught fire as soon as my child turned it on today to heat his lunch. Luckily I was home and I was able to put it out quickly. The actual microwave itself caught fire not the food and the food was still cold. This was an electrical failure of some kind.

We bought LG fridge AC Oven from Pattom QRS Thiruvananthapuram. They said the compressor of the fridge has a guarantee of 10 years and its been only 1 and half year since we bought the Fridge and now its not working compressor is dead. Likewise the oven door also got not working in less than 1 year. Their AC is also getting complaint once in every 3 months. Do not recommend LG products at all.

Very disappointed. The touchpad required opening the door to access the inner touchpad for any inputs other than the length of time you wanted it to run. We had the unit for only 6 months when the inside touchpad became inoperable.

It almost burnt my house down.

This microwave almost burnt my house down and I wish I was kidding. There was nothing in it it was clean it was not running and yet the thing had some kind of electrical malfunction causing it to combust. These microwaves are a safety hazard and you should avoid at all cost. There are so many reviews mentioning fire between here best buy home depot and lowes. I wish I had looked at reviews before buying off a shelf. I had not idea what the smell was and attributed it to our freshly painted guest bedroom and ignored it. MY husband came home and instantly knew it was an electrical fire and found the microwave. Wouldnt want to know what couldve happened if he hadnt found it.

I have had my LG microwave for several months now and use it several times a day. The only complaint I have is that a bag of microwave popcorn doesnt fit in it very well. The bags get caught on the sides because they are just a bit too big and dont rotate with the carousel.

Did Not Honor Warranty

My microwave was 5 years old but had a 10 year magnetron warranty. When my microwave stopped working it was determined by an LG service center that the magnetron had failed and could not be repaired. Rather than providing me with a new unit or credit towards a microwave LG did nothing. If this is the service I get I wonder what the point of the warranty is. I will not buy LG appliances in the future.

Door issue 2.5 year broke 2nd time same unit

We loved this for 2.5 years Door latch and mechanical is weak with cheap plastic that breaks the interlock door switch. The microwave will not operate with door issue for obvious reasons. Since others had the same issue we moved to another brand. So sad every applicance is LG and now I have a Rogue brand. LG does not offer a small compact .7 to .9 cu microwave except this one. I was forced to move to another brand.

Neo Chef Microwave

I had this microwave about 3 years now. The features are great definitely enough space inside for large plates .Heats up up foods beautify with not uneven heat spots. The only problem I had was the door release button came out. Unfortunately the warranty was up but LG Customer service did offer a 20 rebate if I bought another microwave so they werte helpful and yes I would buy another. With the exception of of the button Im still using the microwave until I buy a new one.

This is a nice looking solid microwave. However disappointed in that it stopped functioning after 3.5 years and LG would not stand behind the product. It says 10 year warranty right on the front door. This was not honored.

Nice little Microwave poor long term quality

Microwave is about 6 years old started giving us an F17 Error code for an issue with the inverter. While the part might have a 10 year warranty itll cost more to replace it than just buying a new Microwave. Not a very quick cooking machine takes longer than I would like and its not very even heating. Looks nice but if it doesnt last why bother? I hope my LG dishwasher doesnt have issues...

Slow/inconsistent heating

Note: Were working with LG to replace this microwave under warranty. Its possible that its defective. If its not defective it takes a really long time to heat water/leftovers compared to our last Sharp 1000 watt microwave. Were also not crazy about having the controls behind the door. Its a sleek look but not super convenient. The interior of the microwave is also very dark so its a lot more difficult to see how things are going inside: we cant see bubbles in boiling water or melting cheese for instance.

If you read the one-star reviews you will find most complaints about complete product failure in less than two years. Mine failed completely after 22months with the waveguide flaming up and sparking. The technician that LG sent said it was unrepairable and a fire hazard. LGs customer service was very responsive when they determined the microwave was a fire hazard hence sending the technician at their expense. They could not stop apologizing and offering fake sympathy but ultimately they offered nothing to fairly compensate me.. Their best offer was 20 off a new LG microwave Seriously This microwave is the poorest quality and I wish I had paid attention to the bad reviews. The good reviews are primarily from people who recently purchased. But many will soon find out that it is very poorly quality.

Do not buy this microwave

I bought this microwave last year and it started to act up around 10 months after purchase. Finally it officially broke at 13 months and 1 week after purchase and LG wouldnt replace it. I had high expectations its supposed to be a smart microwave and it was expected to out last the old basic ones but it did not. Now Im stuck with an expensive big useless non working microwave. Called LG did troubleshooting and still didnt work and they said theyd get back to me if someone could replace it and I havent heard back since. I just want a working microwave send me a used one for all I care I just cant cook at the moment since I just gave birth.

Display burned out making the microwave unusable.

Solid Performance Inverter Works Great

The mix of features and performance makes for an excellent fairly compact microwave. This fits perfectly on our countertop and the inverter technology really does heat food evenly no more cold spots. A big plus is that while the sound is more pleasant than typical microwave beeps it can easily be turned off if desired.

Dead After a Few Months

We loved this microwave for its size and charm the sounds didnt bother us like others however it started acting weird a few days ago. I think a circuit shorted out and now it wont turn on. Weve only had this microwave for a few months so this is pretty disappointing. :
